Fhairwell Tour, the Happy Ending…

In August 2016, upon visiting family in Toronto, we finally donated the braid…

Lily’s Fhairwell Tour, London UK!

A few weeks before leaving for our epic family holiday to London, Lily announced that she was ready for her first hair cut. In 6 years and four months (her entire life) she had never had her hair cut. No trimming, nothing! It was down to the back of her knees. The idea was born that it would be an extra special memory to have it cut in London, saving the braid to donate to charity as I couldn’t bear to see it swept away to the garbage. Then, I realized it would also be cool to let¬†her hair down at all the main tourist sites and get a picture of it first…a Fhairwell Tour. So here it is! Lily’s Fhairwell Tour and the Great Moment of Cutting thanks to Nottii Hill Salon in Notting Hill, London. ¬†Enjoy!

**Update** Daddy made a video too!

Family Round-Up

In case you blinked and missed the summer, here’s a quick round-up of what we’ve been up to and some recent kidpics.

July saw the boys go off to sleep-away camp for the first time. It was¬†a great experience! Down on the Belleisle¬†Bay, Camp Glenburn¬†was everything good I remember about camp and none of the crap parts (but those only came later when I entered the dangerous-girl-cliquey-tween phase, which hopefully won’t happen to boys). And in a bit of good luck, near the camp we discovered Kredls, by far my favourite market in all of Canada with the best. bread. ever. No really, I will drive an hour for this bread. Ok, moving on….

The end of July saw the Great Ontario Invasion. My brother’s family came, my parents came,¬†my aunt and uncle came, and an old family friend came (from B.C. but hey they flew over Ontario to get here).¬†The weather wasn’t always great but we made the most of it.

We finished the summer off with a few days in Halifax for a last hurrah before school.

And in between all that, Liam went to a competitive gymnastics camp, Lily to a ballet camp, and, for the first time in 10 years,¬†I finally had a few days where I slept in till nine. ūüôā

Canada Day in Moncton

Well folks, I’m back with another post. I know I should finish off the deck replacement series, but more important things have arisen. Today is Canada Day in Moncton and the festivities downtown are in full swing.

Who cares, Colin James is in town. We were down there earlier today and I caught some of his sound check. Being the notable photographer I am, I was able to get up close for a few shots, so here they are.

Mr. James, if you’re reading this I’d be more than honoured to be your photographer for the night!
